The International Hasfarm Cup 2019

 Following a successful first edition in 2018, Hasfarm Holdings has decided to re-conduct the event in 2019. The competition will gather a selection of international florists (flower designers, flower artists) in which the work production, product proposal, styling ability, presentation ability, etc. will be judged for their comprehensive expression power. We are counting on you to take a chance and participate in the International Hasfarm Cup 2019!

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE!

Country Champion from each participating countries will be invited to compete at the Grand Finale of the International Hasfarm Cup, in Kunming (China), during the 2019 Kunming Int’l Flower Expo of China(July 12-14, 2019).

1. Conditions of application

• All applicants must be over 18 years of age
• Applicants will need to have at least 3 years’ experience in floristry.
• Only active florists, flower artists, and designers are eligible. Applicants may be asked for proof of employment/work experiences (online portfolio, CV, references,…).

2. The theme of the International Hasfarm Cup 2019 Qualifiers

“Hasfarm goes Green!”

The brief description of the theme “Hasfarm goes Green!”

Living a healthy life is now a part of our goals for a bright future. In a fast developing world, it is important to find ways to be more responsible towards the environment and make sure we protect it.

3. The process of Vietnam Champions’ selection

The diagram presented in Annex 1 shows the details of the timing and process.

The process of selection of the Vietnam Champion will be done according to two clear steps:

Step 1: pre-selection (deadline April 24^th, 2019)

All applicants will send a batch of pictures of the floral arrangements to Dalat Hasfarm (refer to Annex 2 for more information).

Our Grand Jury will screen and select a TOP 20 based on the basic judging criteria (Annex 3) and the evaluation grid (Annex 4).

From the TOP 20, a TOP 5 will be selected through Facebook online votes and screening from our Grand Jury.

Step 2: final-round selection contest, organized in HCM city – May 24^th  

Dalat Hasfarm will organize a “mini-contest” in order to get the TOP 5 to compete together on a number of floral assignments. Our Grand Jury will evaluate and elect our Vietnam Champion, based on the basic judging criteria and the evaluation grid.

• Get access to the Grand Finale of the International Hasfarm Cup 2019 in Kunming, China!
• A cash coupon - value 5,000,000 VND.
• The official Certificate of the “International Hasfarm Cup 2019” Qualifiers.

2^nd place

• A cash coupon - value 4,000,000 VND.
• The official Certificate of the “International Hasfarm Cup2019” Qualifiers.

3^rd place

• A cash coupon - value 3,000,000 VND.
• The official Certificate of the “International Hasfarm Cup2019” Qualifiers.

People’s choice Award (most votes on FB)

• A cash coupon - value 2,000,000 VND.
• The official Certificate of the “International Hasfarm Cup2019” Qualifiers.

4. The Grand Finale July 12^th – 14^th, 2019 in Kunming, China

The Grand Finale will be hosted by Kunming Hasfarm and will take place at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention & Exhibition Center. In order to increase visibility and exposure of the event, the Grand Finale will be conducted during the 2019 Kunming Int’l Flower Expo of China(July 12^th - 14^th, more information at: www.kmflowerexpo.com).

The formula of the Grand Finale will be a day contest where all Country Champions will battle for the prestigious International Dalat Hasfarm Cup title (estimated 6 countries). As host of the Grand Finale, Hasfarm Holdings will sponsor the following expenses:

• Champion Economy-class return ticket and accommodation expenses to/in Kunming (China) as well as other related expenses during the event.
• All accessories and floral products are necessary to perform the assignments of the Grand Finale.

The International Hasfarm Cup organization committee will provide at a later stage all information’s necessary for the advanced preparation of the Champions (rules, assignments,…).

Awards

1^st prize:

• 1,000 USD.
• An all-inclusive invitation (including return economy air ticket, visa application, hotel,…) to the Netherlands, during the Aalsmeer Trade Fair (November 6,7,8, 2019).

The 2019 Hasfarm Cup Champion will have then the opportunity to perform floristry *under the spotlight* at the booth of our partner FleuraMetz during the. A unique chance to get a memorable experience and international professional exposure!

• The official Certificate of the “International Hasfarm Cup 2019” Grand Finale.

2^nd prize:

• 500 USD.
• The official Certificate of the “International Hasfarm Cup 2019” Grand Finale.

3^rd prize:

• 250 USD.

Photo usage permission

The International Hasfarm Cup organization is authorized to photograph floral designs and designers and use the photographs for PR, social media or advertising purposes.

Annex 2: Sending us pictures of the applicants’ floral arrangements

In order for us to judge the design made by the contestants, we will need you to send two different pictures of their flower-design (see below sample).

Pictures must be sent by email at hasfarmcup@dalathasfarm.com,before April 24th, 2019.

• The subject of the email will show:  International Hasfarm Cup (pre-selection)- Name of participant - Region - City.
• Images should be sent under JPEG format and shot at FINE level (1MB minimum).
• Kindly remember to send the CV of each contestant!

Annex 3: The basic  judging criteria

1. Design need to show at least 70% Dalat Hasfarm grown flowers (refer to www.dalathasfarm.com/san-pham), while the additional 30% are free (other flowers or greens).

2. All flowers used in the design must be fresh flowers.

3. All photos in the applicant's design portfolio must be of designs created solely by the applicant. Floral designs cannot be more than 1 year old.

4. The contestants, designs in the determined theme, can be carried out with own interpretation.

5. Artwork needs to have a description of approx. 150 words.

6. Floral techniques and type of design are free (eq. hand-tied bouquet or inserted arrangement etc.).

7. The work must be artistic, creative, highly applicable, made with proper technique and tenability should be at least 5 days (in case of doubt an explanation of applied floral-technique needs to be submitted).

8. Background provisions, conditions, styling, size of the flower-design etc. are all free.

9. The size of the design can be decided by the organizer however a minimum size of 45x45cm is recommended.
